At Graceful Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, we provide each patient with the best care by utilizing different techniques and modalities. Some of the techniques we use do not use needles, so those that aren't thrilled with the idea of acupuncture can rest assured that we can still help using other methods. The following techniques are the most common that we use on a day-to-day basis:
Oriental Medicine, also known as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), dates back to around 2500 BCE. It comprises of acupuncture, herbal remedies, tui-na (therapeutic massage), diet therapy, and qi gong (energy exercise). The goal of Oriental Medicine is to restore balance to the body. A body in balance is a body free of pain, ailments and disease.
Our training included all of the forementioned methods of treatment and we employ them daily in our practice. Each patient is diagnosed according to TCM methods and appropriate techniques are utilized to help bring balance to his/her body. Most adult patients receive acupuncture whereas most children receive tui-na (therapeutic massage/acupressure).
NAET was discovered by Dr. Devi Nambudripad in 1983, after combining her Oriental Medicine background with Western physiology and kinesiology to cure herself of her own allergies and illnesses. Her discovery has led to a safe and gentle technique that can be perfomed on anyone - from infants to elderly.
NAET works by eliminating sensitivities (also known as allergies) that cause imbalances in our bodies. These imbalances can lead to illnesses ranging from minor to severe. NAET is utilized to treat a wide range of conditions - from seasonal and food allergies to skin disorders to autism to chronic digestive disorders.
